Our team has years of experience in the field of Non-Destructive Testing and is able to deliver the assurance you need that your assets are up to your industry’s highest standards of quality, safety and compliance.
We use a variety of methods to inspect your assets to determine areas of particular interest. Visual inspections are a good starting point for a series of inspections on a whole site or individual asset.
Our Magnetic Particle Testing service or ‘MT’ is used to detect Planar (surface) defects in ferromagnetic (magnetic) materials, such as Carbon Steel.
Our Penetrant Testing service or ‘PT’ is used to detect Planar (surface) defects predominantly used in non-ferrous materials such as Stainless Steel, however, can still be applied to ferrous materials.
Our Eddy Current Inspection services or ‘ECI’ uses electromagnetism to detect Planar (surface) defects. It is particularly useful for testing on coated surfaces for surface discontinuities.
Our Ultrasonic Inspection service or ‘UT’ uses high frequency ultrasonic waves to measure for volumetric defects in a variety of materials.
Our Radiography Testing service or ‘RT’ is used for several different applications such as testing for Volumetric defects, Root Penetration of welds, Root Fusion of welds to name a few. This testing method can also be used on most materials where no minimum material thickness is required like in UT. Very small defects can be detected, and portable radiography units often do not require power on-site, meaning they are highly versatile. Another benefit to RT is that the client is supplied with a permanent record of the test on the Radiographic Film.
Our Positive Material Identification service or ‘PMI’ is a way of identifying the different elements of any given material. In general, it is used to determine the exact components of metal alloys,
Our Ground Penetrating Radar service or ’GPR’ is a non-destructive testing method that uses low frequency sound waves to penetrate the surface of the ground and reveal any anomalies, inclusions and discontinuities. It is used to investigate the subsurface on concrete structures to reveal the location of materials such as ducting, rebar, cables etc and also defects like voids.
Our Time-of-Flight Diffraction testing service or ‘ToFD’ is a form of Ultrasonic Testing. It uses sound waves to detect cracks and faults deep within structures. This method of UT can provide the client with a permanent record of the test.
Our Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing service or ‘PAUT’ is another form of Ultrasonic Testing that allows for permanent records of a component’s internal structure to be stored.
We use a variety of methods from our suite of NDT procedures to check the shell, roof, floor, welds, and past repairs to assess the integrity of your asset.
MITS Inspection have a vast knowledge of Boiler inspections, predominantly in planned Outage and LTSA work scopes. With MITS you can receive an efficient, thorough, and reliable boiler inspection service, so that you can be assured that your assets are up to your industry’s highest standards of safety and compliance. We understand the frustration that slow reporting and poor response times can cause. These types of unnecessary delays add to the operational disruption caused by unplanned outages and regular site maintenance. At MITS Inspection, we aim to deliver high-quality testing and inspection services, as quickly and safely as possible. Our team utilise all the technology and resources at our disposal to provide the most responsive non-destructive testing service we can.
